Web tension control -speed control

In previous articles, we talked about the tension control principles and some torque control tension systems. Today, we share about another control method- speed control.

Speed control can be simply put as the speed gap between two driven rollers. For instance, if you slow down the material feeding unit and speed up the rewinding unit, there is a certain speed gap produced and thus tighten the material.

Speed control method can be used as a tension control unit, but it is not the same as the torque control. Speed control has limited effects especially in machine start-up and stop, speed up and slow down,etc.

Speed control is used for material that doesn't require much tension accuracy or machines running at moderate speed.
